The Mobile Agri People’s Market drew overwhelming crowds during its two-day run in the cities of Talisay and Naga, as consumers scrambled to buy fresh farm goods at lower prices.
Operating out of the Agrilink Reefer Van, the market offers produce sourced directly from farmers in the southern town of Alegria, cutting out middlemen and slashing costs.

Buyers swarmed the refrigerated van as soon as it opened, eager to take advantage of produce sold without traditional middlemen, according to the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO).
The initiative, led by the Cebu Provincial Government under Gov. Pamela Baricuatro through the PAO, aims to bridge gaps in access and affordability within the province’s agricultural supply chain. It is also part of the Capitol’s thrust to strengthen livelihood, food security, and the agriculture sector.

PAO personnel noted that the program directly responds to two persistent challenges: low farmgate prices that hurt farmers, and high retail prices that burden consumers in urban areas.
The use of the Agrilink Reefer Van ensures that vegetables and other perishables maintain their quality during the journey from Alegria to Talisay and Naga.
The PAO extended its gratitude to the public for their support, as well as to the local government units (LGUs) and agriculture offices in Alegria, Talisay City, and Naga City for their on-ground coordination.
