There is no stopping the provincial government in its effort to modernize and upgrade all district and provincial hospitals.
Yesterday, the Capitol delivered a new C-arm X-ray unit and an anesthesia machine to the district hospital in Minglanilla. Hours later, the district hospital in Argao also received a C-arm unit with an operating room table.

The delivery of these machines is part of the Provincial Health Office’s bid to upgrade the Minglanilla district hospital to Level 1 status.
The Capitol, under the administration of Gov. Pamela Baricuatro, is leaving no stone unturned to fulfill her promise of bringing quality healthcare services closer to the community.

Since the start of her administration last year, the Capitol has rolled out various short-term and long-term health programs to address the pressing needs of Cebuanos.
These include repairs and facility upgrades in district and provincial hospitals, stockpiling of enough medicines, hiring of more medical staff and other infrastructure improvements.
While infrastructure upgrades are underway, the Provincial Health Office holds monthly medical, surgical, and eye missions to bridge the gaps.

The outreach missions allow patients to receive free specialized care, including surgeries for cataracts, pterygium, hernias, goiters, myomas, ovarian cysts, and gallbladder stones, as well as minor procedures like cyst, lipoma and breast mass removal.
The Capitol is also working to integrate the “Gamot” initiative under PhilHealth’s Yaman ng Kalusugan Program into district and provincial hospitals. The program provide free medicine subsidies no only to admitted patients but also to outpatients.
