For Gov. Pamela Baricuatro, the solemn observance of Holy Week is not only a religious ritual but also a personal pilgrimage of faith that fuels her public service.

On Maundy Thursday, the governor observed the traditional Visita Iglesia, visiting seven churches across the western and midwestern towns of Aloguinsan, Toledo City, Balamban and Pinamungajan.

Her seven stops included St. Raphael the Archangel Parish in Aloguinsan, San Vicente Ferrer Parish in Bato, Toledo City, and San Juan de Sahagun Parish in Toledo City. She also prayed at Sta. Cruz Parish in Talavera, the Immaculate Conception Parish in Matab-ang, St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church in Balamban, and Sta. Monica Parish in Pinamungajan.

The Lenten season was a personal pause for Gov. Baricuatro—a time for reflection, a time to deepen a faith that has long been her compass in serving the Cebuanos.

For her, the tradition is also an act of gratitude: for life, for the trust of her constituents, for the strength to carry on.

As Cebu observes Good Friday, the governor urged Cebuanos to find time for spiritual renewal and family bonding.
