With a surge of travelers heading home for Holy Week, Gov. Pamela Baricuatro has directed the management of the Cebu North Bus Terminal (CNBT) to ensure that passengers bound for the northern part of the province experience a comfortable and orderly trip.

Gov. Baricuatro inspected the CNBT on Wednesday morning, April 1, before proceeding to the Cebu South Bus Terminal.
According to Jason Maceren, manager of the CNBT, the governor specifically ordered that passengers traveling north be accommodated in an orderly and comfortable manner.
Maceren said the terminal had implemented several measures to ease the burden on travelers, including free drinking water, free use of restrooms, the addition of six portalets, a cooling system, and extra chairs to make waiting more comfortable.

Free rides have also been offered, prioritizing persons with disabilities (PWDs), senior citizens, and those traveling with children.
Free rides until April 2
Maceren noted that the provincial government’s Libreng Sakay (free ride) program continues to operate daily, with four big buses heading north. The program will run until Thursday, April 2, with each bus accommodating 57 to 60 passengers per trip.

7,000 pieces of bottled water
The governor also increased the supply of bottled water distributed at the CNBT to 4,500 pieces on Wednesday. The day before, some 2,500 bottles were given out to travelers.
Maceren advised the public to keep hydrated and to offer prayers for a safe trip, adding that the earlier they travel, the better.
The bus terminal remains open 24 hours a day to accommodate the surge of passengers during the Lenten season.
