In a bid to bring essential healthcare services closer to the commuting public, the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has set up “Yakap-Gamot” registration sites at the Cebu South and North Bus Terminals today, with services running until tomorrow.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between Cebuanos and government health coverage by making it more convenient for travelers and residents to sign up for PhilHealth without having to visit a district office.
“Everyone is encouraged to make use of this accessible service made possible through PhilHealth, so that more families can be connected to the protection and support they deserve,” Capitol Piso Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan said.

As of press time, a steady stream of passengers and terminal workers were seen lining up at the registration booths, taking advantage of the free onsite membership processing.

Organized by the Cebu Provincial Government and PhilHealth, the program offers a one-stop shop for PhilHealth registration and amendment, Yakap registration, printing of ID and member data record, assistance with inquiries, among others.
