The Cebu Provincial Government distributed a total of ₱10.060 million in financial assistance to six districts and 58 barangays across the province on Monday, March 23.
The bulk of the aid went to the 3rd District, which received ₱7.31 million. Of the amount, ₱5 million was allocated to the Municipality of Asturias, while the remaining ₱2.3 million was divided among 18 barangays.

The 7th District got ₱850,000 for eight barangays, followed by the 4th District with ₱790,000 for 16 barangays.
The funds were earmarked for socio-cultural development and community improvement projects, including the installation of solar street lights, construction of multi-purpose covered courts, and the fabrication of retractable tents.
Other projects cover pathway concreting, procurement of digital equipment, and enhancement of barangay facilities.

In her message, Governor Pamela Baricuatro said her administration is prioritizing grassroots development by directly downloading aid to barangays to ensure equitable distribution.
She also urged local officials to adopt the Capitol’s “Waste to Fuel” program to help address the province’s growing garbage problem.

Citing the severe impacts of climate change, Baricuatro called on local leaders to exercise political will and strong leadership in helping mitigate environmental degradation. ICAPITOL
