The Cebu Provincial Government and the Department of Migrant Workers in Central Visayas (DMW-7) are strengthening coordination to improve assistance, welfare, and reintegration services for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families affected by the escalating conflict in the Middle East.

The initiative aims to streamline crisis response, enhance repatriation support, and expand employment and reintegration pathways for returning Cebuano workers through closer inter-agency collaboration.

On March 17, Governor Pamela Baricuatro met with DMW-7 Director Jhoaden Lucero and her team at the Cebu Provincial Capitol, along with provincial officials, including Ruben Licera and representatives from the Public Employment Service Office.

Key initiatives discussed included crisis response mechanisms for OFWs, repatriation support, the proposed One Window Bayanihan Assistance Program, and stronger coordination between PESO and the Cebu People’s Action Center (CPAC) to monitor recruitment concerns and provide reintegration opportunities for returning workers.

The meeting coordinated ongoing efforts to make government services more accessible and responsive to the needs of Cebuano migrant workers and their families. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝑭𝑬
