The Cebu Provincial Government will officially begin the asphalting and drainage improvement works at the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) on Friday evening, March 13. The initiative aims to enhance terminal facilities and provide better service for the riding public.

Covering more than 3,000 square meters, the groundworks will be implemented in segments. The project is expected to be completed within seven to 10 days, with major construction activities scheduled from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., while only skeletal work will be conducted during the day to avoid major disruptions in terminal operations.

The project is targeted for completion between March 20 and 23, ahead of the anticipated influx of passengers for the Holy Week.

The project, with a budget of over P12 million, will be implemented by Ten Twenty Allied Developers.

Terminal Administrator Ahmed Cuizon clarified that although the project had already been awarded as early as October last year, its implementation was delayed due to unfavorable weather conditions in the past months.

Niabot na man ang panahon nga ting-init, mao na nga naka-desidir nga karon na gyud himuon,” Cuizon said during a meeting with bus operators at CSBT on Wednesday afternoon, March 11.

TRANSFER OF V-HIRE TERMINAL TO TABOAN

To effectively do the asphalting and drainage works, some bus parking areas inside the terminal will be temporarily cleared.

As a result, Van-for-Hire (V-Hire) units will be temporarily relocated to a designated terminal near Taboan Public Market, similar to the arrangement implemented during the Sinulog Festival.

Normal operations at the CSBT will resume once the project is completed. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝑱𝑳𝑷
