The Cebu Provincial Government ushered in its observance of National Women’s Month on Monday, March 9, 2026, with a sea of purple at the Capitol grounds, as employees heeded the call to wear the symbolic color during the regular flag-raising ceremony.

Leading the gathering was Gov. Pamela Baricuatro, who addressed Capitol employees and urged them to look beyond the month-long celebration and recognize the enduring legacy of women in leadership across the province.

“On this day, we celebrate the strength, the courage, and the leadership of women, labi na gyod dinhi sa Kapitolyo,” Gov. Baricuatro said in her message.

She also recognized women leaders across the province’s cities and municipalities, including mayors, vice mayors, councilors and barangay officials.

“Believe in yourself, stay strong, never give up bisag giunsa paka pagdaog-daog ug pagtraydor. Be grateful in your life. Work hard. Stay humble. Be kind. And keep smiling though your heart is aching,” the governor said.

Today, the Capitol will roll out a series of pampering services for women employees and officials as the Capitol joined the month-long celebration of National Women’s Month.

The activity forms part of the provincial government’s continuing efforts to recognize the role of women in governance and public service, while promoting gender equality and inclusive participation in local development.

In coordination with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the Capitol organized various services for women employees and officials as a gesture of gratitude for their contributions to the province.

These services include nail polishing, basic makeup, massage, eyebrow grooming, and eyelash extension, among others.

The governor thanked TESDA Regional Director Gamaliel Vicente Jr. and Assistant Regional Director and Cebu Provincial Director Floro Ringca for their support of the Capitol program.ICapitol PIO
