The provincial government has extended its financial support to two of its oldest residents, granting them the ₱100,000 Centenarian Incentive in honor of their 100th birthday.
Carmelita Espinosa Fajardo, 100, of Barangay Patupat, Barili, received her cash gift on Feb. 27, 2025. The centenarian and mother of eight, born on Christmas Day in 1925, attributed her long life to eating fruit regularly.

On March 6, 2026, Soledad J. Pabingwit of Barangay Prenza, Balamban, a mother of 11, also received the same amount. She shared that her secret to reaching a century is eating healthy and reading the Bible.
The incentives were distributed under the leadership of Gov. Pamela S. Baricuatro through the Cebu Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).
Assisting in the process were staff from the offices of Board Members Lorenz Lagon (3rd district) and Julius Anthony “Oloy” G. Corominas, as well as the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (MSWDO) of Barili and Balamban. Family members of the recipients were present during the ceremonies.
Their inspiring lives remind us that healthy living, faith, and strong family ties are among the greatest blessings behind a long and meaningful life. | 𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝑺𝑾𝑫𝑶 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔
