Residents of Camotes Island flock to the Ricardo L. Maningo Memorial Hospital in San Francisco town this morning to join the pre-screening activity for the upcoming Capitol’s Surgical, Eye and Medical Mission scheduled on March 28 to 29, 2026.

Services for the upcoming mission will include an eye check-up with operations for cataract and pterygium, as well as major surgeries such as hernia, goiter, myoma, ovarian cyst, and gall bladder stones, and minor surgeries like cyst, lipoma, and breast mass.

The initiative is part of a broader strategy by Gov. Pamela Baricuatro to improve access to quality and specialized healthcare for residents, particularly those in areas far from Cebu City, where the majority of medical centers are concentrated. /photos by ASC
