𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Governor Pamela Baricuatro graced the BIR Tax Campaign Kick-Off 2026 held in a hotel in Cebu City on Friday, March 6.
With the theme, “Mahusay na Serbisyo, Katumbas ng Buwis Mo,” the activity gathered officials and stakeholders from several BIR revenue regions including Revenue Region 11 – Western Visayas, Revenue Region 12 – Negros Island Region, Revenue Region 14 – Eastern Visayas, and Revenue Region 13 – Central Visayas, the host region.
Revenue Region 13 – Central Visayas Director Douglas A. Rufino welcomed the event and highlighted the crucial role of taxpayers and stakeholders in nation-building.
“To our esteemed taxpayers and stakeholders, you are more than just contributors—you are our enduring partners in building a better future for our children and for generations to come. As we enter this tax filing season, let us remember that paying our taxes promptly and correctly is the highest form of patriotism in times of peace,” said Rufino.
In her message, Governor Baricuatro said that this year’s theme is a powerful reminder that every peso paid by taxpayers must translate into real and meaningful service for the communities. The governor also reaffirmed the Province of Cebu’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible governance.
“The resources entrusted to the government will be handled with transparency, accountability, and wisdom. Every peso of public funds must be spent carefully, responsibly, and always for the benefit of the people,” she said.
