Cebu Gov. Pamela Baricuatro Meets Poland Ambassador to Explore Tourism, Trade, and Waste-to-Energy Partnerships

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Governor Pamela Baricuatro welcomes Poland Ambassador Katarzyna Wilkowiecka, Consul Sebastian Marek Kmita, and Honorary Consul Carmel Durano at the Cebu Provincial Capitol on Thursday, March 6, to discuss potential areas of collaboration between Poland and Cebu Province.

During the meeting, discussions focused on possible partnerships in digitalization and waste management, with Gov. Baricuatro highlighting the province’s need for comprehensive waste-to-energy projects.


The talks also touched on tourism opportunities, noting that Poland has become one of the fastest-growing tourist markets for the Philippines, with a 40% increase in visits in recent years. Both sides discussed the possibility of direct flights or chartered flights between Poland and the Philippines to further boost tourism in Cebu.
