The Cebu Provincial Government hosted on Thursday, February 26, 2026, young political leaders from 16 Asian countries, who came to the Capitol for a learning visit.
They were the 17th batch of international students of the Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians (KASYP), which is a training program by German foundation Konrad Adenauer-Stiftung.

The foundation started the two-year training program in 2010 “to strengthen political parties in Asia and to develop a cadre of accountable and responsible young political leaders”, and has so far trained 300 students.
Cebu is the batch’s first training workshop “to kick-start the (program’s) second training module on political parties in democratic societies”.

During the visit, the Provincial Planning and Development Office gave a briefing on the governance framework and priority programs of Governor Pamela Baricuatro, as well as general information about the Cebu Provincial Government.
The discussion that immediately followed the briefing saw Capitol representatives, led by Office of the Governor Chief of Staff Jhamez Canoy, answering questions on hunger response, universal health care, disaster response, and sisterhood ties, among other queries.

The 26 young political leaders, who came from Singapore, Timor Leste, Cambodia, India, Malaysia, Maldives, Indonesia, Mongolia, Nepal, Bhutan, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Philippines, South Korea, and Thailand, are also expected to proceed to Cebu City Hall after the Capitol visit. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝑷𝑫𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝒀𝑱𝑩
