In a major boost to healthcare services in midwest Cebu, a state-of-the-art C-Arm machine was delivered to the Cebu Provincial Hospital in Balamban (CPH–Balamban) on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
The advanced imaging equipment is expected to enhance surgical services not only for residents of Balamban but also for patients from neighboring towns.

The delivery is part of the ongoing healthcare modernization initiative pushed by Gov. Pamela Baricuatro, who has prioritized upgrading facilities in provincial hospitals to bring specialized medical services closer to constituents.
Capitol Piso Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan is overseeing the equipment upgrade program, along with other projects, ensuring that provincial hospitals are equipped with cutting-edge technology to improve their services.
The C-Arm, a real-time X-ray imaging device, allows surgeons to view inside a patient’s body during operations, particularly useful in orthopedic, trauma, and other complex surgical procedures.

Hospital staff are currently conducting installation and calibration, with the machine expected to be fully operational within the next few days.
Once in use, the equipment promises safer, more precise, and more efficient surgeries, reducing the need for patient referrals to Cebu City and other major medical centers.

This C-Arm, Dr. Catalan said, is just one of many upgrades the provincial government is rolling out across the province.
