Capitol Piso Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan met with a top Visayan foundation on Monday to lay the groundwork for a partnership aimed at boosting the province’s cancer care program.
Dr. Catalan sat down with representatives of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) to discuss a collaboration with the RAFI Eduardo J. Aboitiz Cancer Center (EJACC).
The proposed partnership seeks to strengthen early detection efforts and make diagnosis and treatment more accessible to Cebuanos battling the disease.
Dr. Catalan emphasized the need to bring services closer to the grassroots.
Through the unified efforts of the province and the private foundation, she said, “life-saving services can be brought closer to communities, ensuring that no Cebuano is left behind in the fight against cancer.”
Officials are expected to unveil the full details of the initiative on March 6, 2026.
