LOOK: With smiles lighting up their faces, patients who underwent free surgeries through the Capitol Surgical Mission at Carcar City Provincial Hospital flashed thumbs‑up signs to express their joy and gratitude to the Cebu Provincial Government.

The surgical mission across the province is one of the health reforms implemented by Gov. Pamela Baricuatro to help patients who need specialized care but can’t afford to pay the bills if they seek treatment at private hospitals in the city.
“For many families, this stage—quiet recovery after a successful operation—is the moment hope starts to feel real again,” Capitol Piso Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan said in a Facebook post.
“To our doctors, nurses, and support staff: thank you for making safe recovery possible through constant monitoring and compassionate care,” Dr. Catalan added.
Photos were posted with the patients’ consent.
