Modernizing Capitol transactions through software solutions, enabling the payment of Capitol dues such as taxes and licensing fees, among others, online.
This was the proposition advanced by Kirk Esconili, chief revenue officer of Multisys Technologies Corp., during a meeting with Gov. Gwen Garcia at the Capitol on April 24.
Multisys is a software solutions company that caters to both private firms and government agencies, offering system automation and integration services that expedite various processes and transactions —ultimately helping reinforce the ease of doing business in the country.
The company representatives were accompanied by Cong. Sonny Lagon of Ako Bisaya Partylist during the meeting.
Esconili showcased their innovative technological solutions, emphasizing their capability to assist local government units (LGUs) in becoming digitally advanced.
Of particular interest was Multisys’s product aimed at facilitating the transformation of LGUs into “smart” entities, streamlining operations through digital means.
Gov. Gwen highlighted the strides already made by the Capitol in integrating technology into its operations, citing the successful implementation of a QR code system for distributing financial assistance, such as in implementing the P1.8-billion Dasig Sugbo aid post-Odette; and the P100-million aid for qualified micro-entrepreneur beneficiaries of the Sugbo Negosyo program, among various others.
For Gov. Gwen, the integration of technology in government projects has many benefits. Foremost among these are the safeguarding of government funds against unwarranted spending (since the QR cards will only sanction the purchase of pre-approved items); and efficiency of billing and payment mechanisms with partner stores.
Gov. Gwen, nevertheless, expressed keen interest in how Multisys could collaborate with the Capitol to further enhance its payment collection systems governing all revenues, including fees, earnings, and taxes.
She emphasized the importance of expanding online payment options for entities transacting with the Capitol, seeing the potential in Multisys’ digital payment solutions to bolster the digitalization efforts of the Capitol, and thus ultimately improving efficiency and accessibility for stakeholders and constituents.
The meeting, while still at the initial stage, signals a promising step towards harnessing technology to modernize governance and enhance service delivery in the Province. Collaboration between the Capitol and Multisys, if realized, could pave the way for more seamless and efficient digital transactions in the future. | CL
