A private firm proposed to the Provincial Economic Enterprise Council (EEC) that they will undertake the construction of an integrated multi-modal bus and ferry terminal in Talisay City along the South Road Properties (SRP).
Johnny Ng, president and CEO of Cebu South Harbor and Container Terminal Services Corp. (CSHCTC) appeared before a special meeting by the EEC at the Capitol to made his presentation on March 22.
CSHCTSC is a Filipino-owned company that is building an international cargo port in Talisay City which will cater to containers and bulk cargo operations.
Ng’s proposal is in harmony with the Capitol’s plan of decongesting traffic in Cebu City by relocating the Capitol-operated bus terminals to the SRP, which will also be integrated with a ferry terminal.
Gov. Gwen Garcia, who chairs the EEC, welcomed the proposal and asked Ng to submit a formal unsolicited proposal to the EEC for review and deliberations of this possible additional economic enterprise for the province. | Babie Jane Revecoy
