PNP TERROR ALERT LEVEL 3, NO CAUSE FOR ALARM IN CEBU

Posted on by: Francis Nacua

In the midst of the nationwide Terror Alert Level 3 of the Philippine National Police (PNP), I appeal to our fellow Cebuanos to keep calm and resume to your daily activities with caution and vigilance.

It is the PNP’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to put the whole forces in extreme alert following a desperate bomb threat near the US Embassy in Metro Manila. This procedure is for our safety and security. Entailing this procedure are strong security checkpoints.

Just recently, National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr. clarified the nationwide terror alert issued by PNP Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” De la Rosa.  Esperon explained that it only covers Davao, Cotabato and Zamboanga. He added that the PNP is placed under full alert in time for the Christmas season and the declaration is more for the protection of the people.

In the Province of Cebu, rest assured that there is no cause for alarm. All forces of the Province are in 24-hour vigilance against suspicious behavior and terrorist threats.

Again, resume to your daily activities, enjoy the Christmas season. Don’t be alarmed but always be alert.

HILARIO P. DAVIDE III

Governor

Province of Cebu
