Wellness Day services benefit Capitol workers

Cebu Provincial Government’s Capitol employees trooped to the social hall for free health services last Aug. 4. The Provincial Health Office set up the social hall into a ‘one-stop venue’ for Wellness Day services they offered from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Wellness Day is one of the activities of the ongoing month-long 446th Founding Anniversary of the province. Medical doctors and other personnel were pulled out from the district and provincial hospitals around the province for the purpose.

_MG_2746Some 350 employees approached the doctors for consultation of different ailments; 142 had random blood sugar test and 130 had their cholesterol counts by the medical technologists.

Around 82 underwent electrocardiograph test, 38 had their blood samples extracted and tested for Human Immuno Virus, 100 had eye examinations, and 78 had dental examinations.

Forty employees donated blood in the bloodletting section, 30 had nutrition counseling to arrest hypertension and other concerns and 64 others had their bodily aches relieved by massage services from participating therapists.

Free medicines and vitamins were dispensed of that day.
