Upland barangay gets mini dump truck

| by: Xerxes Alkuino

An upland barangay in the municipality of Carmen, north of Cebu, acquired Php 0.950 million worth of mini dump truck.

Governor Hilario P. Davide III and Vice Governor Agnes Magpale made a ceremonial turnover of the vehicle to Lanipga Brgy. Captain Remegio Benitez.

Benitez brought the dumptruck to the Capitol and requested the provincial officials to administer the ceremonial turnover.

Unlike the usual purchase of vehicles, Gov. Davide and Vice Gov. Magpale downloaded the money for the acquisition of the mini dump truck to the barangay. Benitez said the full amount was given in a series of resolutions addressed to the governor’s office and vice governor’s office.

By the time, their money reached Php 1 million they started with the procurement process. The remaining Php 50,000 is set aside for the maintenance of the vehicle.

The dump truck was delivered to the barangay last September 8.
Benitez said the dump truck is needed especially during disasters. They could better serve their constituents especially to bring the farmers’ products to the market.

Lanipga is about 15 kilometers from the town proper.

The barangay captain also requested Gov. Davide to fix the provincial road going to Caurasan, Lower Natimao-an, Upper Natimao-an, and Cantukong.

He said the road is not yet concreted or asphalted except the stretch passing their barangay.
