The Provincial Health Office (PHO) and the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Sogod joined forces in providing free health services and medicines to residents of four barangays in Sogod last May 16.
A total of 186 residents from Barangay Ibabao, 42 from Barangay Bawo, 137 from Barangay Bagatayam, and 147 from Barangay Poblacion, including 60 senior citizens from the said barangays, registered to avail of the services.
Of these numbers, 62 had tooth extractions, 28 had their blood sugar level and 18 had their cholesterol level determined. The rest went to the doctors on hand for the free consultation of different ailments.
The PHO team was composed of Dr. Manuel Purog, Dr. Farrah del Villar, Dr. Carlos Layese, Dr. Elaine de la Cruz, Dr. Francisco Dayak, Dr. Sandra Caballero, Dr. Nina Basa, Dr. Jane Pisiao, Dr.
Jessica Tantay, Dr. Glomaris Comendador, Hayle Cuyos, Glenn Tirado, Cynthia Pangatungan, Naome Espinosa, Elena Malosbalos, Leonides Manatad, Milky Ycong, Eugan Nuyad, and Jesus Banal.
The Sogod RHU team was composed of Sogod Municipal Health Officer Dr. Ariel Roque, Era Butaslac, Marina Comendador, Esperanza Roble, Roina Armecin, Jercel Comendador, Brenda Sollano, Divine Dosado, Elverita Montejo, Lyra Zambo, Mary Arianne Presillas, Jona Lozano, Belen Bracero, Ethel Grace Isles, April Ann Vistar, Janice Caparas, Aileen Mae Estrella, and Kevin Carbona.
The activity was documented by Earl Ryan Santiago of the Provincial Information Office. Barangay captains Pablito Baladjay (Ibabao), Dr. Francisco Dayak (Bagatayam), Sarah Roble (Bawo), and Gregorio Omolon (Poblacion), their respective councils and staff were on hand to ensure peace and order in the medical mission.
