Sogod hospital undergoes rehabilitation, expansion

Juan Dosado Memorial Hospital in Sogod is currently undergoing rehabilitation works. Total cost of this project is nearly P20 million.

As part of the Province’s agenda on health, Gov. Hilario P. Davide III collaborates with the Department of Health (DOH) for improvements of hospital structures and upgrade of facilities. These are undertaken to ensure effective and efficient delivery of health and basic services to the community.

This is funded by the DOH under its Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP). As the implementing arm, Cebu Province oversees and supervises the construction works, ensuring schedule is targeted as planned.

By 2016, there would be more supplies of medicines after the Cebu Provincial Government approved the P2.5 million allocations for the said hospital. This is a noteworthy increase from 2015’s P100,000 budget allocation.

Comprehensive Emergency Obstetrics and Newborn Care (CEmONC)

The hospital’s new facility, the Comprehensive Emergency Obstetrics and Newborn Care (CEmONC) building is near to completion. This facility will be of great help to the hospital whose patients are mostly pregnant mothers.

Sewage Treatment Plant

The hospital will also have its sewage treatment plant to address the problem of wastewater disposal. A budget of P2.4 million is allocated for this project, which is now 98% completed.

Hospital Chief Dr. Ellen Dela Cruz describes the ongoing projects undertaken for the hospital as a welcome development. Juan Dosado Memoral Hospital commits to continue providing essential health care to the community at a cost affordable for all. Rio Emgrid A. Abarquez
