The Cebu Provincial Government distributed three kilos of rice each to 2,500 senior citizens in Badian town last August 19.

Vice Governor Agnes Magpale led the distribution through the “Halad Alang kang Lolo ug Lola” program for senior citizens.

Beneficiaries were from Barangays Poblacion, Malhiao, Manduyong, Banhigan, Alawijao, Lambug, Bato, Tubod, Basiao, Dobdob, Dagatan, Tiguib, Ginablan, Calangcang, Sulsugan, Matutinao and Balhaan.

The activity was in collaboration with the municipal and barangay officials of Municipality of Barili.

Also present were Vice Mayor Fructuso Caballero, Provincial Board Members of the 7th District Christopher Baricuatro and Jerome Librando.

In her speech, Magpale constantly reminded the public the sincere intention of Governor Hilario P. Davide III not to put political colors in their programs.

“Everyone is treated the same,” Magpale emphasized.

Wa ta’y gipili, wa gyud ta’y partido nga gipili. Ang tanan nga motung-tung sa 60 anyos pataas, makadawat gayud ug gasa,” she said.

Vice-mayor Caballero thanked the provincial government for including the senior citizens in their agenda and projects.
