Some 800 patients benefitted medical services in a one-day Medical-Dental Mission of SM Foundation on July 8 at the Savemore Store in Carcar City.
The successful mission was in collaboration with the Cebu Provincial Health Office (PHO), Local Government of Carcar City, Cebu Medical Society, Naval Forces Central and Philippine National Red Cross-Cebu Chapter.
It aimed to help the less fortunate families by providing basic health services and preventive health care.
In addition to the free medical check-up and treatment, electrocardiogram or ECG test and X-ray, SM Savemore provided free vitamins and medicines for common illnesses.
PHO doctors conducted free medical consultation and dental extraction while the Naval Forces Central did free haircut and massage.
“We’re overwhelmed by the support of Carcar City and the Cebu Province. We’re also thankful for the rest of our partners today in making this activity a success,” said Galfen Samson, SM Foundation Project Coordinator.
RJ Leduna, Vis-Min senior public relations officer of SM Foundation was also thankful of the mission’s positive outcome.
He said that it was the first time SM Foundation coordinated with the local government.
“Initially, activities such as this are only conducted annually in provincial SM Malls. It was just recently that SM Foundation is reaching out to the public,” Leduna said. (Heart Rizarri)
