It was a rewarding day for the barangay volunteers in the towns of Consolacion, Compostela, and Liloan as the provincial government of Cebu continues to recognize their efforts in public service.

Governor Hilario Davide III and Vice Governor Agnes Magpale spearheaded the cash incentives distribution at the three towns today.

“Kamo among giisip nga extension sa provincial government, gani nakahuna-huna ako nga magbuhat ug department of extension services. We recognize your hardwork and sacrifices and so we are happy to give you this incentive”, said Davide during his speech.

The town of Consolacion received a total of P1,383,000 million for the 776 barangay volunteers while the town of Compostela received P814,500 thousand for the 435 barangay service providers. For the town of Liloan, the amount of P813,600 thousand benefited the 429 barangay workers.

The health workers, nutrition scholars, and day care center workers received P2,400 each while the animal health aides and tanods received P1,500 each.

In addition, the local government unit of Compostela made the incentive distribution extra special as the barangay volunteers received an additional of P500 and 2 kilos of rice each.

“Nalipay ako pagmaayo kay gawas sa insentibo nga among madawat, nabati nako ang pagpangga gikan sa mga opisyales sa probinsya alang namo’ng mga volunteers,” said Corazon Alimurin, 80-year old nutrition scholar for 16 years.

On the other hand, Vice Governor Agnes Magpale expressed her thanks to the faithful barangay workers. “Though today is my birthday, I made it as an ordinary working day aron makauban nako ang mga tawo nga dako kaayo ug tabang sa mga kabarangayan”, said Magpale.

Also the mayors of the three towns did not miss to attend the distribution. Consolacion Mayor Teresa Alegado, Compostela Mayor Joel Quino, and Liloan Mayor Duke Frasco with PB members Jude Sybico and Antonio Miguel Magpale, Consolacion Vice Mayor Aurelio Damole, Compostela Vice Mayor Josephine Abing and some municipal officials were also present during the distribution.
