PSWDO honors retiring municipal workers

Retiring municipal social welfare and development officers (MSWDO) receive a simple tribute from the Provincial Social Welfare & Development Office (PSWDO) during the MSWDO’s recent quarterly meeting.

This serves as recognition to their years of dedication and hard work. Rosalinda A. Jao, PSWDO consultant, revealed this during last month’s MSWDO meeting at the Capitol social hall.

This quarter’s honoree is Florisa F. Bagasbas who was assigned in Consolacion.

Flor, as she is fondly called by her peers, received a certificate of appreciation, a bouquet and a cake. An audio-visual presentation of Flor’s stint with the office was presented and was given a loud applause from her peers.

The agenda of the quarterly meeting included the rationale of the creation of a Community Development Unit. Updates on programs handled by PSWDO for the Elderly & Persons With Disability, Youth Welfare Program, Child Abuse and the Disadvantaged Sector including those of Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) and My Home, the Province’s facility for these misguided children were also presented.

On the Children and Women Welfare Program, updates on Women’s Organizations, the Bugasan sa Kababayen-an project, the Solo Parents, the evaluation of LGUs for the Most Child Friendly LGUs search, the status of Day Care Services and the Child Development Service were discussed.

Updates on the Aid to Individuals in Crisis Situations, Population Management Program and the Our Cebu Program were also delved into.
