The Philippine Society of Nephrology – Central & Eastern Visayas (PSN-CEB) Chapter held the World Kidney Day Forum at the Cebu Capitol Social Hall last March 12.
This is in celebration of the World Kidney Day. A ceremonial drinking of water, participated by all present including Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale, served as one of the highlights of the event.
It emphasized the importance of drinking enough water to keep the kidneys and the rest of the body in good condition, thus says Provincial Health Officer Cynthia Genosolango.
PSN-CEV President Cesar Quiza welcomed the participants while PSN-CEV Vice President Alexander Tan Jr. introduced the speakers.
Speakers in the forum included Dr. Nello Roa who talked on ‘The Kidneys: Normal Physiology,’ Dr. Mark Tam who delved on ‘Systemic Diseases Involving the Kidneys’ and Dr. Roldan Mata who lectured on ‘Common Glomerulonephritis Affecting the Kidneys.’
Immediate Past President Vivina Chiu acted as moderator and master of ceremonies. The forum was attended by other officers and members of the society, municipal health officers, district hospital staff, and some personnel of the Provincial Health Office.
