The Provincial Agriculturist Office conducts series of events in November. The Office will hold a two (2) days training on Technical Training Course on Operation & Maintenance of Agricultural Mechanization Development Program (AMDP) – FSTP Corn Mill. This will be held at the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Training Hall, Guadalupe, Cebu City on November 26-27, 2015. There are 80 expected operators/farmers from 35 different Municipalities. The said course will focus on training the chosen farmers in operating the recently distributed Corn Mills in the LGUs. Moreover, it will also answer several questions, and tackle common problems encountered in operating the distributed Corn Mill.
At the same time, there will also be Distribution of 250 Bags of Tilapia Feeds for the month of November to different Municipalities. This is on top of the 250 Tilapia Feeds already distributed to the municipality of Ginatilan, Malabuyoc, Minglanilla, and Sibonga in support for the establishment of their Tilapia Communal Demo Ponds; Municipality of Alegria, Sibonga, and San Fernando, for the maintenance of their Tilapia Hatchery and Nursery Pond; Municipality of Alcantara, Badian, Moalboal, Ronda and Oslob for the maintenance of their Tilapia Backyard Raising; and City of Naga, in support for the establishment of their Tilapia Hatchery Pond.
To address the needs of the marginalized fisherfolk in our municipalities, the Fishery Division of the Provincial Agriculturist Office proposed the establishment of Tilapia Hatchery and Nursery Pond, Tilapia Communal Ponds, and Tilapia Backyard Raising to different municipalities of Cebu.
