Cebu Governor Hilario P. Davide III and the Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Commission (CPADAC) recently awarded P2 million-worth of cash incentives to another set of policemen, this time to 40 uniformed policemen and women of Cebu Province.
According to CPADAC Executive Director Joey Herrera, these policemen have successfully conducted 11 anti-drug operations in nine towns and cities in the Province.
These operations were conducted in Moalboal, Sibonga, Carcar City, Naga City, Toledo City, Balamban, Consolacion, Danao City, and San Remigio.
“These incentives are our way of thanking you and boosting your moral because we know how difficult it is to be out there on the field,” said Davide.
He commended their dedication, commitment, service, courage, and discipline.
“In this crusade, drug lords and drug peddlers come to you to bribe you yet you stood fast. You are loyal to your oath of office to serve peace and order in your respective jurisdictions,” Davide expressed.
CPADAC Vice Chairperson Provincial Board Member Ivy Durano-Meca also expressed her gratitude to the police and commended their bravery, dedication and commitment.
“To our provincial police, our heartfelt thanks for risking your life everyday to ensure everyone else’s safety and security,” she said.
Cebu Provincial Police Director Supt. Noel Gillamac thanked the Governor and the Provincial Capitol for rewarding them for doing their jobs.
“Where can you find a province that gives monetary rewards for doing our responsibility? So I think it is a challenge to us nga daghan pa gyud atong (to give more) effort to eliminate drug problem in our area of responsibility,” he expressed.
Davide assured the police force of the provincial government’s continued support in their operations.
“We are proud of you. The Province and CPADAC will always be behind you in your efforts to fight illegal drugs,” he said.
