No place for idle employees in the Capitol

The Cebu Provincial Government’s Committee on Discipline and Investigation (CDI) will conduct an investigation on two separate incidents involving eight (8) employees caught drinking liquor during office hours last Friday, May 16.

In the first incident, at about 3:00 p.m., Governor Hilario P. Davide III himself saw five (5) employees of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office drinking beer along Avila St., near Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital.

Also last Friday, at 4:00 p.m., Civil Security Unit Assistant Chief Roberto Legaspi discovered three employees of the Provincial Health Office drinking beer at a sari-sari store near the legislative building.

Governor Davide reiterated his earlier pronouncements to maintain transparency and honesty in the Capitol. He feels very strongly on the site of idle employees in the Capitol.

The provincial government is determined to cleanse the Capitol of nonperforming and redundant employees. The Human Resources and Provincial Administrator’s offices are taking the lead in this project.
