PDEA 7 seized nearly P1M worth of shabu in Liloan, Brgy. Luz

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Regional Office VII (PDEA 7) confiscated almost P1 million worth of shabu following separate entrapment operations on May 13 and 14, which lead to the arrest of three suspected drug personalities in Liloan and Cebu City.

PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña said a buy-bust operation in Liloan has impounded 10 packs of shabu with a total weight of 200 grams. Lapeña added that the illegal substance, with an estimated market value of P480,000, were taken from a certain Joseph Durano, 30, from San Vicente, Barangay Yati, Liloan town.

In a separate operation, PDEA 7 agents under the direct supervision of Dir. Yogi Filemon L. Ruiz took 11 packs of shabu from Bronson Kid Abatayo, 30, and Loue Dela Rosa, 27, both from Barangay Luz, Cebu City. Ruiz said the substance weighs around 125 grams and costs around P425,000.

Assorted drug paraphernalia were also taken from the suspects.

Durano will face charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) Article II of RA 8165, while Abatayo and Dela Rosa will be charged for violation of Section 5 in relation to Section 26b (Conspiracy), Section 11, and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia) of the same law.
