PB lauds 2 police stations, PIB for drug raids

The Cebu Provincial Board approved yesterday 12 resolutions, commending two police stations and the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) for their successful anti-illegal drug operations.

The separate resolutions authored by PB members Jude Thaddeus Durano-Sybico and Carmen Remedios Durano-Meca, lauded the police stations of Balamban and Danao City as well as the PIB for the numerous drug raids, which led to the arrest of suspected peddlers and seizure of millions of pesos worth of shabu.

Awarded  by the Cebu Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CPADAC) last year as the top performing city in the campaign against illegal drugs, Danao City Police Station seized a total of P4.1 Million worth of shabu in nine operations.

The PIB, meanwhile, was commended for the buy-bust operation in Barangay Looc, Danao City where the police netted P678,000 worth of shabu.

The raid in Barangay Looc last May 13 also resulted in the arrest of three suspected drug pushers. Firearms were also confiscated from the suspects.

Balamban Police Station seized lately P395, 418 worth of shabu in two raids.
