The Cebu Provincial Capitol together with the Metro Cebu Development and Coordinating Board (MCDCB) launched the “Mega Cebu Vision 2050 “ turn of phrase “Mega Cebu : Making W.A.V.E.S. “(Wholesome, Advanced, Vibrant, Equitable and Sustainable ) .
In the first quarter meeting held at provincial capitol social hall last March 24, 2013, Cebu Acting Governor Agnes Magpale as board member in the meeting together with the local government officials and also the MCDCB Chairman Roberto Aboitiz tackled the different issues encountered by Metro Cebu. The meeting dealt with the traffic problem as discussed by some government officials to DPWH Regional Director Ador Canlas. “We have included several widening projects to improve the traffic situation here and improve road capacity. Many of our motorists are using widened roads as parking space. We are not spending for their parking spaces” Canlas said.al Cooperation Agency (JICA) and also the city of Yokohama for supporting the vision.
Cebu City, Carcar, Danao, Lapulapu, Mandaue, Naga, Talisay, Compostela, Cordova, Liloan, Minglanilla and San Fernando are the participating cities and towns for Mega Cebu. A vibrant, equitable, sustainable and competitive environment that embraces Cebu’s creativity and its cultural, historical and natural resources with strong citizen participation and responsive governance, Aboitiz concluded.
