Maghaway to get mini garbage truck

| by: Xerxes Alkuino

A village chief finally found relief after Governor Hilario P. Davide III approved his request for a mini garbage truck.

Governor Davide approved the resolution hand carried by Maghaway, Talisay City Barangay Captain Victor Cabatas last January 26.

Cabatas was accompanied by his barangay kagawads.

Cabatas stated that for five years he has been using his own vehicles to collect the garbage in his barangay.

He said he tried to ask for a truck from the city government. He said the request was approved but it was never prioritized.

Governor Davide reiterated to Cabatas that the province has responsibility to respond to the needs of the barangays. He said the fund that will be used to purchase the vehicle after all is the people’s money. Talisay City’s landfill is located in Barangay Tapul.

The Capitol released P241.5 million financial assistance to local government units including the 1,066 barangays from the calendar year 2014-May 2015.

Last year, Maghaway received P35,000.00 financial assistance from the legislative assistance funds of Vice Governor Agnes Magpale and Provincial Board Member Julian Daan.
