Guv congratulates Sinulog winners from province

IMG_6132Governor Hilario P. Davide III congratulated the contingents from the province for a “good finish” in the Sinulog Grand Parade on Sunday, January 20 at the Cebu City Sports Center.

The municipality of Tuburan placed third in the Sinulog-based category. The cities of Carcar and Talisay City finished fourth and fifth, respectively. KulturangPlacereño from the municipality of Placer, Masbate won the first prize while TribuSinanduloy of Tangub City followed.

Gov. Davide said he is proud of them. He reiterated his promise to give incentives to the winners of the SinulogsaKabataansaLalawigan.

Talisay City Central School and Tuburan National High School were the big winners in the SinulogsaKabataansaLalawigan in their respective divisions held last January 11.

Tuburan Festival Queen Christine JaelAbellanosa also won the 2014 Sinulog Festival Queen Search.

“I promised Mayor (Democrito) Diamante ngamohatagta’g award saSinulogsaKabataan (contingents) ugkining festival queen paragyud ma-encourage pa angubanngamo-apil next year,” Davide said.

The governor added that he will also consider giving awards to the other winning contingents from the province of Cebu.

For the first time, Gov. Davide joined the Sinulog parade. He said the holding of such a big event impressed him.
