On December 1 at exactly 6PM, Governor Hilario P. Davide III, his wife Mrs. Jobel Angan-Davide kicked off the “Pasko sa Kapitolyo 2015” with the traditional lighting of the Capitol building.
Davide was joined by Provincial board members Julian Daan and Jude Durano-Sybico along with several Capitol department heads and employees.
This year marks the third annual Christmas lighting of the Capitol, a tradition started by Governor Davide.
The governor and his wife wish that everyone will be with their families this Christmas.
“Naghinaut kami ni Jobel, nga kitang tanan dinhi will be with our families, to share the Christmas season. Let us be grateful to the Lord Almighty for all the blessings He has given us. Let us be thankful to Him for the gift of family, friends, and opportunity to serve the Cebuanos through our worki in the provincial government,” Davide said in his speech.
To complement this year’s theme, “Ang Panaghigugmaay sa Pasko, Alang sa Kalambuan sa Sugbo”, Davide also launched the Cebu Provincial Government’s new advocacy campaign and logo, “Kalambuan sa Matag Sugbuanon.”
“Kalambuan sa Matag Sugbuanon mao kana atong tinguha ug tumong. Kining Kalambuan sa Matag Sugbuanon cannot be accomplished overnight. This is a long process, hinay-hinay, but we want to make sure that nga sa dili pa mahuman akoang termino, dako na gyud ta maipakita sa atong mga kaigsuonan,” Davide said.
After a countdown, revelers were treated to live performances by the Children’s Joy Foundation, Inc., and the Capitol Band.
