The Alegria Integrated Potable Water Supply Project of the municipality of Alegria received a go signal to undergo bidding procedures.
Provincial Agriculturist Dr. Roldan Saragena said they recently received a “No Objection Letter” (NOL) 1 to proceed with the P98 million subproject of Cebu Province’ project with the Philippine Rural Development (PRDP)
“With the issuance of NOL-1, the province has to open an account for its 10 percent counterpart to the subproject. Then, the public bidding follows,” Saragena stated.
The level II water system will benefit 3,877 households in eight of nine barangays in Alegria. These barangays are Montpeller, Guadalupe, Madridejos, Poblacion, Valencia, Compostela, Sta. Filomena, and Legaspi.
The National Project Coordination Office of the Department of Agriculture’s Philippine Rural Development Program (PRDP) issues the no objection letters.
After a successful bidding, a NOL-2 will be issued to proceed for the awarding of contract.
Based on the PRDP subprojects database as of May 13, 2016, the Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) approved three more sub projects proposed by the PRDP-Cebu Provincial Project Management and Implementing Unit.
These are the rehabilitations of 7.8 kilometer-Looc to Talisay (Santander town) farm-to-market road (FMR), 15.5 km-MacArthur-Buenavista (Tudela, Camotes) FMR, and the 25 km-Nahus-an to Poblacion FMR (Sogod).
Another sub project, the rehabilitation of 6.58 km-Agujo to Tapilon FMR (Daanbantayan), is already endorsed for NOL-1.
There are also eight road rehabilitation sub projects totaling about 76.15 kilometers that are under feasibility study. Another six FMR subprojects are under validation.
