IMG_7615Cebu Provincial Governor Hilario “Junjun” P. Davide III administered the oath of office to barangay officials at a well-attended ceremony held at the covered court in the Municipality of Tuburan yesterday.

Governor Davide emphasized in his message the important role of Barangay Captains and Councilors and reminding them that serving the people is a privilege and they should take care of it.

“We were chosen because the people trusted and believed in the assurances we have said during the campaign. The mandate that you hold is sacred. Ang kining pagdagan o paglansar, katungod kana. Apan kong modaug o mapildi kita, pribelihiyo kini og mahimo kining kuhaon sa mga kaigsuonan nato kong wala sila makontento sa atong panirbisyo, busa ato kining ampingan. There is never a wrong time to do the right thing.”

He urged the newly elected officials to strengthen the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and said that the provincial government is always ready to assist and support them.

“There is no substitute for preparedness and awareness”, he said.
