The Cebu Bus Operators Association from the North and South Bus Terminals had a meeting with Cebu Governor Hilario ‘Junjun’ Davide on Friday, July 12, at the conference room of the Capitol. The Governor was thankful for the support of the operators association in the 2010 and 2013 elections. During the meeting, Julie Flores, President of Cebu South Minibus Operators Association raised their concerns to the Governor.
Among them were to ask the Provincial Board Members to pass a resolution creating the Committee on Transportation were they can express their problems in the North and South bus terminals; to have a Management Board to bring operation-related and other concerns to the attention of Provincial Board; the need of the bus operators association for a small office inside the bus terminals where commuters can ask help on any problem that may arise in the future; and, to have a provincial government sticker in all buses and mini-buses for easy identification.
In response, the Governor asked for a formal letter request from the association in order for him to bring up the concerns to the Provincial Board together with Vice Governor Agnes Magpale. “Maayo nga suggestion ang inyong gihatag (It’s a good suggestion),” the Governor said. (Lee Dela Cerna)
