Cash Assistance to Toledo Fire Victims

DSC_0066Victims of a recent fire that hit Dasuna, Don Andres Soriano, Toledo City received cash assistance from the Cebu Provincial Government, last October 3.

The Provincial Social Welfare Office distributed the cash assistance to a total of 25 families at the Don Andres Soriano Barangay Hall. The families of twelve home owners received P5,000 per family. The 13 families who were either house sharers or renters, also received P1,000 each.

Last August 11, 2013 , a fire hit Purok Dasuna, Don Andres Soriano , Toledo City where 18 houses were totally damaged.

Jobel Angan-Davide, wife of Governor Hilario P. Davide III and Provincial Board Member Gricelda Sanchez, assisted Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) Officer-in-charge Evelyn Senajon and the barangay officials of Don Andres Soriano in the distribution.

Barangay Captain Jeffrey Cabrera thanked the Cebu Provincial Government for the cash assistance of the fire victims .

Meanwhile, Senajon said the cash assistance is one of the components of the program Aid to Individual in Crisis Situation of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Under this program, local social welfare offices (like PSWD) provide emergency financial assistance or referral for free services to individuals and families who are in extremely difficult situations and have inadequate resources.
