Capitol Medical Mission goes to Dumanjug

DSC_0274Almost 1000 people, composed of children, adults and senior citizens attended the medical mission at Barangay Tangil, Dumanjug, Cebu on September 20, 2013. The medical mission aimed at providing medical assistance to the constituents of Dumanjug, particularly the indigents within the area.

The Cebu Provincial Government, headed by 2nd District SP Members Peter Calderon and Dong Baricuatro, in partnership with the LGU, Rotary Club of Mactan and the Philippine Army, initiated the first medical and dental mission for the said municipality. Free physical examinations, dental services, laboratory tests, as well as medicines and vitamins, were given out to the participants during the mission. Dental care lessons and dental kits were also provided. The Provincial Government also gave away 1500 packed goods for the senior citizens that included canned goods, 3 kilos of rice and 2 boxes of milk.

The Rotary Club of Mactan also promoted its “Adopt A Library” program which seeks to encourage children to read books.

“Gusto namo tanan makadawat kong unsa may ihatag nga tabang gikan sa probinsya so wala’y pili pili diri ,tanan gyud tagaan ug hinabang” (We want all to receive what the province can shared and we don’t have exemptions. All will be given assistance.) as said by SP Member Dong Baricuatro .

The medical mission is a project of the Provincial Government that is geared towards providing free health services as well as promoting healthcare to local communities. (Lee Dela Cerna)
