The Cebu Provincial Government commended the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 and 303rd Air Intelligence and Security Group of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) for their victorious anti-illegal drug operations.

In a resolution authored by Provincial Board (PB) Member Carmen Durano-Meca, PB lauded the efforts and achievements of the joint elements of these offices for the successful marijuana eradication operation conducted last April 2014 in Balamban, Cebu.

The successful arrest of Jose Amadora, a drug dealer, last May 2014 in Dumanjug, Cebu was also acclaimed by the Province.

The resolution stated the successful operation of these offices showed “courage, determination and efficiency on the part of the law enforcers in pursuing the campaign against illegal drugs.”

PDEA 7 Deputy Regional Director Esperidion Javier received cash reward of Php 10,000 on Wednesday. Three of his subordinates received Php 5,000 each.

Javier thanked the Cebu Provincial Government for its continuous support to PDEA 7. He revealed that PDEA 7 is improving security measures in sea ports, wharfs and bus terminals in Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor, and Dumaguete.

He also announced the activation of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council in the 42 barangays in Danao town.

“We have that shared responsibility in fighting illegal drug menace. We encourage other mayors to follow suit,” said Javier.
