Capitol inaugurates first covered court in Cañorong, Samboan

Provincial Government officials headed by Gov. Hilario P. Davide III recently inaugurated the first newly constructed 600-square meter covered court worth P3.5 million in barangay Cañorong in Samboan town on April 18. In the same occasion, the blessing of a new three-room school building in Cañorong Elementary School also took place.

Governor Davide said the covered court will be used for various barangay activities and will also serve as an evacuation center during disasters.

Davide emphasize that the provincial government aims to improve the delivery of government services and to realize the basic needs of the people down to the barangay level.

“Sumala sa among gi-saad namo ni Vice-governor Agnes kaniadto, kining kwarta sa gobyerno or public funds i-uli gayud kini kaninyo agi sa paghatud kaninyo ug basic services,” Davide said.

“Kining mga proyekto nahimo kini tungod sa kakugi ug sa paningkamut sa inyong mayor ug ni kapitan Temia, kauban sa iyang mga opisyales dinhi. Kita sa lalawigan, nag sige kita ug tan-aw, naglantaw kita sa unsay pay mahimo sa inyong provincial government para sa atong mga kaigso-onan. Dili lang sa second district kung dili sa tanan distrito sa atong lalawigan,” he added.

Cañorong is five kilometers away from the town proper and located at a highly elevated portion in Samboan with a population of about 1,200.

Barangay chief Artemia Pagao said in her speech that the constituents are gratified and grateful for the very first covered court ever built in their barangay.

“Alang kini sa kaugmaon sa atong mga kabataan, kini mao akoang damgo nga ana-a pa ko sa akong katungdanan”, Pagao said.

Vice-governor Agnes Magpale, PB Peter John Calderon and 2nd district representative Willie Caminero congratulated the mayor and barangay officials for their accomplishments in the barangay.

Mayor Raymond Calderon thanked the high officials of Cebu Province and representative Caminero for the various infrastructure projects they received and for other projects underway.
