Some 124 barangay tanods, 88 barangay health workers (BHW), 23 barangay animal health aides (BAHA), 16 barangay nutrition scholars (BNS) and 24 day care workers (DCW) in Oslob received their cash incentives for the year 2013 last June 17 at the Oslob covered court.
The distribution was graced by Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale, second district Provincial Board Members Christopher Baricuatro and Peter John Calderon. A family affair had kept Gov. Hilario Davide III from joining the Capitol team earlier as scheduled.
The team was joined by Oslob officials and employees led by Mayor Ronald Guaren, Vice Mayor Leonardo Rendon and Sangguniang Bayan members.
The barangay volunteers’ jubilation escalated when Magpale announced that the team will be back in December to distribute what is due them for the current year.
In Boljoon, the same gesture of appreciation and gratitude was expressed by 93 tanods, 59 BHWs, seven BNS, 11 BAHAs and 22 DCWs at the town’s covered court. Davide arrived as Mayor Merlou Derama was leading the Capitol team to the old belfry where lunch was served at the second level.
In Alcoy, 86 tanods, 69 BHWs, 16 DCWs, nine BNS and 11 BAHAs expressed their gratitude with loud applause at the announcement of the start of the distribution of the 2013 incentives and the prospect of receiving the current year’s incentives late this year in time for the Christmas season.
Davide’s announcement of the enrolment of more barangay volunteers to the Philhealth program was likewise met with the same enthusiasm. The announcement was made by Magpale in Oslob and Boljoon and received the same response from the barangay workers.
