IMG_1981The Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Commission (CPADAC) honored 12 cops of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB)-Cebu Provincial Police Office for nabbing a known drug pusher in Canhabagat, Medellin.

Governor Hilario P. Davide III led the ceremonial awarding of plaques at the Capitol last Thursday, October 3. He was planked by Provincial Board Member Carmen Remedios Durano-Meca, the vice-chair of the CPADAC.

The cops also received cash from the commission. Police Superintendent Rodolfo Albotro, PIB chief, received P10 cash while the others were awarded P5,000 each.

Davide congratulated the police officers for the job well done. He said the successful operation only proved that the drug problem in the province is real and they must be unrelenting in their anti-drug campaign.

The buy bust operation of PIB, which resulted in the arrest of William Mercader, a level one drug-pusher in Medellin, took place last February 17.

Along with Mercader and a certain Joven Senining, who was killed after the operation, PIB arrested 5 minors aged from 15 to 17. They reportedly served as look-outs in the repacking of shabu.

The operation also yielded 82 small, one large and two medium packets of shabu worth P65, 500, drug paraphernalia, as well as firearms and ammunition. (Xerxes Alkuino)
