Halad sa Kabataan is an annual activity that gives children the opportunity to embrace and show their love for Cebu’s culture and heritage through traditional music. It is an initiative of the Provincial Council for the Welfare of Children (PCWC) headed by Gov. Hilario Davide III and co-chaired by Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale

It is also a chance for them to hone and display their talents among the children in the province.

Meanwhile, Vice-governor Agnes Magpale, in her speech during the 6th cluster elimination round held at SM City Consolacion, said that the event is one of PCWC’s objectives to discover and showcase their talents.

Ang kini nga programa tumong niini nga madiskubrihan ang talento sa mga kabataan ingun man usab mapalambo ang pagmahal sa musika kanatong mga Sugbuanon (This program aims to discover the talents of the children and to promote the love of music among Cebuanos),” Magpale said.

She added that the Cebu Provincial Government under Davide’s leadership always prioritized the welfare of the children.

“Aside niini nga programa, naa usab kitay center for children in conflict with the law (CICL) called My Home diin diri nahimutang sa Consolacion (Aside from this program, we also have a center for CICL called My Home located in Consolacion),” she said.

The 8th Halad sa Kabataan carries the theme “Komunidad at Pamahalaan Magkaisa, Pang-aabuso sa Bata Wakasan Na!” as part of the Children’s Month Celebration in October.
