The Cebu Provincial Anti-Illegal Fishing Task Force (CPAIFTF) took hold of 630 kilos of fish worth P126T from five (5) warehouse caretakers in Carmen this morning.
CPAIFTF Head Mar Go said a checkpoint in Carmen town halted the alleged violators around 12:45 a.m.
Go further added that the confiscated items were bound for Pasil, Cebu City from Mahawak, Medellin.
The haul of fish distributed in nine (9) containers was reportedly caught through dynamite fishing. CPAIFTF personnel are currently preparing the documents for submission to the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Adjudication Board (FARAB) for further investigation.
Species of captured fish include Tabangko, Dalagang-bukid, Miransing, and Badlon. As told by Go, these will be donated to charitable institutions as a usual practice. Shayne Carrillo
