IMG_5795Thirteen of 15 barangays in the municipality of Tabogon received 150 thousand pesos each from the provincial government.

The amount will be used for the rehabilitation of government buildings damaged by typhoon Yolanda last November, said Tabogon Association of Barangay Captains President Teresita Lechido.

Governor Hilario P. Davide III and Provincial Board Member Celestino Martinez III led the distribution of the financial aid at the Capitol last February 14.

The barangays are Manalagtang, Alang-alang, Tapul, Poblacion, Daantabogon, Kal-anan, Loong, San Vicente, San Isidro, Libjo, Mabuli, Sambag, and Maslog.

“Dako kaayo mig pa salamat kay kami gihatagan ug pagtagad. Nakita niya (Gov. Davide) ang among panginahanglan sa barangay,” said Loong Barangay Captain Merlino Alivio.

This was not the first time that the barangay captains from Tabagon visited the Capitol. They had personally delivered their requests for financial assistance late last year.

The Capitol is trying to fast track the release of financial assistance especially when it falls in line with the priority programs of Governor Davide.

In his interviews, the governor said his priority in 2014 is the rehabilitation of the typhoon-devastated northern Cebu. Xerxes Alkuino
